Cross-border collaboration focuses on digital innovation, technical expertise, and long-term investment opportunities within Ghana’s lottery sector
Ghana’s National Lottery Authority (NLA) is intensifying its international engagement strategy as part of a broader effort to modernise the country’s lottery industry and position it for sustainable growth. Under its 2026 strategic roadmap, the Authority is seeking stronger partnerships beyond Ghana’s borders, with a recent high-level engagement in Jamaica highlighting this outward-facing approach.
The NLA delegation recently held strategic discussions with Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL), Jamaica’s leading gaming and lottery operator, exploring opportunities for deeper collaboration across technology, operations, and market development. The engagement forms part of the Authority’s drive to strengthen transparency, attract foreign investment, and adopt global best practices within Ghana’s regulated lottery ecosystem.
The Ghanaian delegation was led by NLA Board Chairman and Technical Advisor to the Minister of Finance, Frederick Amissah, alongside Acting Director-General Mohammed Abdul-Salam and Board Member Nana Obrempong Ameyaw Amponsem. Meetings were also attended by senior executives of Supreme Ventures and officials from Jamaica’s Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, reflecting the importance of government-to-government and business-to-business cooperation.
Discussions during the visit centred on digital lottery solutions, technical knowledge transfer, business partnerships, and market expansion strategies. The NLA emphasised the need to modernise lottery operations in response to evolving consumer behaviour and growing demand for digital gaming products, while ensuring strong regulatory oversight and responsible play.
Supreme Ventures already plays a role in Ghana’s lottery market through its technical partnership with Game Park Limited, a licensed local operator approved by the NLA in 2023. SVL currently provides technology and operational support for lottery products such as Pick 1 and Pick 4, giving both parties a solid foundation for expanded cooperation.
According to NLA leadership, the engagement with Jamaican counterparts also builds on longstanding historical and commercial ties between the two countries. Officials noted that strengthening international relationships can accelerate innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and boost revenue generation for national development.
The visit follows earlier engagements between the NLA and SVL, including a study tour to Jamaica in 2022. As Ghana’s lottery regulator continues to pursue reform and digital transformation, international partnerships are expected to play a central role in shaping a more competitive, transparent, and future-ready lottery industry.
