VIP Play has reaffirmed its presence in the regulated U.S. sports betting market with the renewal of its sports gaming operator license in Tennessee, approved by the Tennessee Sports Wagering Council on May 13. The license extension will allow VIP Play to continue offering mobile sports wagering services in the state through May 2026, strengthening its position as a key player in a growing and competitive landscape.
Mobile App Launch Marks Strategic Milestone
Coinciding with the license renewal is the official rollout of VIP Play’s new mobile betting application, which debuted in Tennessee on May 12. The app offers users access to betting markets across more than 200 sports leagues, supporting a broad variety of wagers, including complex parlays and live bets.
This move reflects VIP Play’s ambition to deliver a more dynamic and expansive sports wagering experience tailored to both seasoned and casual bettors.
The development of the app was led by Daniel Goldstein, who was appointed Chief Technology Officer in December 2024. Goldstein, with a background at major fintech firms such as Western Union and Qenta, was brought on board to lead the project’s technical direction and ensure seamless user engagement.
His recruitment followed the company’s pivotal integration of Kambi Group’s sportsbook technology, bringing advanced data analytics, real-time odds, and a robust backend infrastructure to the VIP Play platform.
Strategic Roots and Growing Footprint
Tennessee remains a core market for VIP Play, where the company first established itself under the ZenSports brand before transitioning into its current identity. This license renewal marks the operator’s second consecutive approval by the state’s gaming authority, suggesting regulatory confidence in its operational standards and consumer protection protocols.
Beyond Tennessee, VIP Play is now eyeing broader national growth. The company has publicly identified West Virginia as its next target for market entry, with plans to enter the jurisdiction before the close of 2025. Additional state applications are expected to follow, as the company builds momentum behind its scalable sportsbook model.
Industry Reception and CEO Commentary
VIP Play’s latest achievements are part of a broader strategy to blend regulatory compliance with technological innovation, according to CEO and Chairman Bruce Cassidy. “We are delighted with early feedback on the new VIP Play app and look forward to providing Tennessee customers with the latest innovations in sports betting,” Cassidy noted.
He further emphasized that the app’s design was centered on enhancing the betting experience, prioritizing intuitive features, fast-loading markets, and a deep selection of betting opportunities — elements that appeal to a growing segment of mobile-first users.
Outlook: Setting the Stage for Regional Growth
With a renewed license, a feature-rich mobile platform, and an expansion roadmap already underway, VIP Play appears well-positioned to scale its operations across multiple U.S. jurisdictions. While Tennessee remains its proving ground, the company’s broader trajectory points toward a sustained push into regulated betting markets, with an emphasis on technology-led solutions and user-centric innovation.
