Four WorldGaming executives are preparing to take part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon, using the event to raise funds for CHIPS and support its work providing specialist powered wheelchairs to children with disabilities.
A four-member team from WorldGaming is preparing to take on one of London’s most prominent half-marathons as part of a fundraising campaign supporting CHIPS, the official charity partner of ICE.
The team will participate in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on October 11, 2026, with the objective of raising funds for CHIPS, a charity dedicated to improving the independence and quality of life of children living with disabilities through specially designed powered wheelchairs.
The initiative brings together four WorldGaming executives: ICE Barcelona Portfolio Director Margaret Dunn, Head of Brand, Partnerships and PR Jody Frost, Group Operations Director Verena Lester, and Senior Operations Manager Rebecca Davis. The group has established a JustGiving fundraising page to encourage donations ahead of the race.
Supporting Children Through Specialist Mobility Equipment
CHIPS was established by members of the gambling industry and has developed a long-standing role in supporting children who require specialist mobility equipment.
The charity provides bespoke powered wheelchairs designed around the individual needs of young recipients. Beyond mobility, the equipment can give children greater independence and allow them to participate more fully in everyday family, educational and social activities.
According to the information released ahead of the race, CHIPS has raised more than £4.5 million and is expected to reach its 800th wheelchair presentation before the end of 2026. During the year so far, the organisation has provided bespoke wheelchairs to 36 youngsters, with individual wheelchairs costing as much as £9,000.
The charity is operated by volunteer trustees drawn from the gaming industry, while all donations are directed towards purchasing wheelchairs. This structure allows fundraising efforts such as the WorldGaming challenge to have a direct impact on the organisation’s ability to support families.
WorldGaming Team Takes on London Challenge
For the WorldGaming runners, the Royal Parks Half Marathon represents both a physical challenge and an opportunity to highlight the importance of industry-led charitable initiatives.
Margaret Dunn said the team was pleased to support CHIPS, describing the organisation’s work as having made a significant difference to children and their families.
The race is expected to attract around 18,000 participants and will take runners through several of London’s best-known parks and landmarks. The route includes Hyde Park, Green Park, St. James’s Park and Kensington Gardens, while participants will also pass landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, the Houses of Parliament and the Royal Albert Hall.
With the event approaching, the WorldGaming team has already begun training and is encouraging supporters to contribute to the fundraising campaign.

The campaign also demonstrates how companies and professionals within the gaming industry can use their platforms and collective efforts to support causes beyond the commercial side of the sector.
