Supplier to distribute lottery and gaming products as UAE builds a regulated gaming ecosystem
Pollard Banknote Enters UAE’s Emerging Gambling Market
Pollard Banknote Limited has officially expanded into the United Arab Emirates after being granted a gaming-related vendor licence by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA). The licence enables the Canadian supplier to distribute its innovative lottery and gaming titles to licensed operators in the UAE, positioning the company at the forefront of the region’s rapidly evolving gaming industry.
The UAE market has seen increased activity since the launch of its first-ever regulated lottery in 2024, marking a significant policy shift towards a structured gambling framework. Pollard Banknote’s entry aligns with the government’s efforts to attract reputable global players to ensure high standards of compliance, innovation, and responsible gaming.
Driving Innovation and Revenue Through Strategic Partnerships
Pollard Banknote, renowned for its lottery solutions and innovative game products, is expected to leverage this licence to introduce interactive gaming content that aligns with the UAE’s regulatory and cultural environment.
Co-CEO Doug Pollard highlighted the significance of the approval, stating:
“We are eager to foster a strong partnership in the UAE and introduce our portfolio of proven, innovative lottery and gaming products and services that will help boost revenue and support charitable causes.”
The company’s recent collaboration with Premier Lotteries Ireland further underscores its strategy of forming strategic alliances to expand its global footprint.
UAE: A New Hub for Regulated Gaming
The UAE has rapidly positioned itself as a burgeoning hub for regulated gaming in the Middle East. Alongside Pollard Banknote, industry giants such as Light & Wonder and Konami Gaming also received GCGRA approval in recent weeks.
Furthermore, developments in integrated resorts are reshaping the region’s entertainment landscape. Hard Rock International recently unveiled plans for a new hotel and residence in Ras Al Khaimah, located near the Wynn Al Marjan Island casino resort, which is scheduled to open in 2027.
Market Outlook: Opportunities and Challenges
With 14 gaming-related vendor licensees already listed by the GCGRA, the UAE market is entering a competitive phase. The regulatory framework continues to evolve, balancing growth with cultural considerations and responsible gaming safeguards.
For Pollard Banknote, this move not only signals its commitment to global expansion but also provides an opportunity to shape the future of lottery and gaming in a high-potential market that blends innovation, regulation, and economic diversification.
