Positioning for a PHP200 Billion Market
Newport World Resorts, one of the Philippines’ leading integrated casino and hospitality brands, is undertaking a significant overhaul of its online gaming infrastructure. The move is part of a strategic effort by its parent company, Alliance Global Group Inc., to better position Newport within the rapidly expanding PHP200 billion (US$3.45 billion) digital gaming market in the Philippines.
In a recent filing with the Philippine Stock Exchange, Alliance Global clarified that this initiative does not involve the launch of a new gaming app. Instead, the company is focused on strengthening and consolidating its existing digital systems to meet increasing demand and improve the overall user experience.
Not a New App, But a Strategic Upgrade
The clarification comes amid media reports suggesting Newport was preparing to release a new application. However, Alliance Global emphasized that the goal is to integrate its current offerings into a more unified, streamlined platform, enhancing speed, reliability, and accessibility across devices.
This digital upgrade reflects Newport’s commitment to staying competitive in a market where online gaming now contributes nearly 50% of all casino revenue. By enhancing its platform, Newport aims to better engage users and provide seamless access to its digital gaming content.
Positive Impact on Parent Company Portfolio
Alliance Global expects the revamped online infrastructure to deliver measurable revenue growth, particularly benefiting its gaming and hospitality subsidiaries. The improved digital presence is projected to boost financial performance for both Travellers International Hotel Group Inc. — which operates Newport — and Alliance Global itself.
The initiative underscores the broader trend in the gaming industry, where digital transformation is essential for long-term competitiveness and user engagement. For Newport, this marks a deliberate shift toward embracing hybrid experiences that combine physical luxury with digital accessibility.
A Leader in Integrated Entertainment
Located across from Terminal 3 of Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Newport World Resorts was the country’s first integrated resort and remains a flagship destination. With seven hotel brands and a dynamic mix of gaming, entertainment, dining, and retail options, the property is well-positioned to lead in both physical and digital spaces.
The resort also remains committed to responsible gaming, offering education and support through its self-exclusion and assistance programs — a balance of innovation and integrity that reflects its vision for the future.
