Record-Breaking Month for Garden State Gambling
New Jersey’s gambling industry achieved a new milestone in March 2025, reporting a record $546.1 million in total revenue across all verticals, according to the latest figures released by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE). This represents a significant year-over-year increase, fueled primarily by the rapid growth of iGaming and sustained strength in sports betting.
The March revenue figure surpasses all previous monthly records since New Jersey legalized online gambling in 2013 and sports betting in 2018, underscoring the Garden State’s position as one of the most dynamic gambling markets in the United States.
iGaming Continues to Power Revenue Surge
The standout performer was online casino gaming, which generated over $197.8 million in revenue — a new monthly record for the vertical. Online slots, table games, and live dealer offerings all saw increased player activity, driven by robust operator promotions, expanded game libraries, and rising consumer adoption of digital platforms.
Sports betting also contributed strongly, with $106.3 million in revenue for the month. March Madness, one of the largest sporting events in the U.S., helped boost wagering volumes. Retail casino revenue, primarily from Atlantic City’s nine casinos, remained stable at $242 million, reflecting healthy in-person visitation despite continued digital growth.
Operators and Regulators Celebrate Sustained Growth
Industry stakeholders have welcomed the figures as proof of New Jersey’s mature and well-regulated market. The state’s balanced ecosystem — combining brick-and-mortar, online casino, and sports betting — provides diverse revenue streams and consistent consumer engagement.
David Rebuck, Director of the DGE, commented: “New Jersey continues to demonstrate how a strong regulatory framework and operator innovation can drive sustained growth while protecting consumers.”
