Strategic Partnership Aims to Support Displaced Workers and Enhance Global Gaming Infrastructure
Fanatics, a fast-growing US-based gaming and sports betting company, has announced the launch of its operations in the Philippines through a partnership with Claymore Solutions, a local business process outsourcing (BPO) firm specializing in gaming industry support services. The partnership marks a significant investment into the Philippines’ emerging role as a global hub for regulated gaming services.
Addressing Job Displacement Post-POGO Era
The initiative is particularly timely. Following the Philippine government’s discontinuation of the POGO (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator) licensing regime, over 40,000 local workers were displaced from gaming-related jobs. This move left a vacuum in the country’s gaming labor market, particularly among roles in compliance, customer service, and back-office support.
Claymore Solutions, founded in 2023 by industry veterans Paul Fox and Nathan Kinsella, aims to fill that gap by connecting Filipino talent with internationally licensed and regulated operators like Fanatics. The company does not engage in gaming operations or handle bets, focusing instead on back-end services such as HR, payroll, office management, and recruitment.
A New Model for Ethical Offshore Gaming Support
Based in Taguig City, Claymore offers flexible BPO models. Clients can either build in-house teams through Claymore’s infrastructure or leverage Claymore’s own recruitment capabilities. This Special Class BPO structure allows for compliant and transparent support for international gaming firms operating outside of the Philippines.
Paul Fox, Chairman and Co-Founder of Claymore, stated:
“Claymore will deliver thousands of high-quality jobs to Filipinos by supporting the growth of reputable gaming operators worldwide.
We are honored by the support of President Marcos and the continued support of PAGCOR, particularly Chairman Al Tengco, whose vision has been crucial in positioning the Philippines as a trusted hub for global gaming support.”
Fanatics Signals Global Ambition
For Fanatics, this venture is more than a simple outsourcing initiative. Known for its aggressive expansion in the U.S. — with recent sportsbook launches in New York and two other states within a single week — the company’s move into the Philippines hints at a broader global support strategy that prioritizes compliance and workforce scalability.
This partnership allows Fanatics to tap into a highly skilled, English-speaking talent pool, and benefit from the country’s proven track record in global BPO services.
Reinforcing the Philippines’ Global Gaming Role
This collaboration also reflects the growing government and regulatory support for transforming the Philippines into a legitimate, well-regulated hub for offshore gaming service provision — distinct from the now-defunct POGO model. It repositions the country as a compliance-focused and socially responsible gaming support center rather than a grey-market haven.
