The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had reportedly suspected that EaseMyTrip may have made payments to shell companies allegedly tied to the betting racket, and that stock price manipulation could have occurred through illicit financial channels. Addressing specific claims about financial irregularities, EaseMyTrip clarified that two entities independently purchased shares of the company on the open market in May 2021. These shareholders received dividends in December 2021, consistent with standard corporate procedure. The company stressed that no further financial transactions or affiliations exist between these entities and EaseMyTrip or Nishant Pitti.
