Angola’s gaming regulator is expanding regional oversight and cooperation with municipal authorities to address unlicensed gambling, unauthorised advertising and regulatory compliance.
Angola’s Institute of Gaming Supervision (ISJ) is strengthening its regional enforcement activities across Huíla and Benguela as part of broader efforts to improve regulatory oversight and combat illegal gambling activities.
The initiative forms part of the regulator’s strategy to expand its presence outside the country’s central administrative structures and bring gaming supervision closer to operators, communities and local authorities.
Through increased engagement with municipal administrations, the ISJ is seeking to strengthen institutional coordination and improve the effectiveness of enforcement measures against activities conducted outside Angola’s legal gaming framework.
Greater regional regulatory presence
The ISJ has been working with municipal authorities as it expands its territorial presence across the country.
The regional engagements have involved municipalities including Palanca, Humpata, Lubango, Navegantes and Baía Farta, providing a platform for the regulator to discuss gaming supervision and enforcement priorities with local government representatives.
