The three-day event will bring together gaming, betting, lottery, payments and technology professionals in Barcelona, with Hall 7 set to provide a dedicated space for emerging technology and digital innovation.
Registration for ICE Barcelona 2027 is now officially open, marking the next stage in preparations for one of the international gaming industry’s major business and networking events.
The event is scheduled to take place from January 18 to 20, 2027, at Fira Barcelona Gran Via in Spain, bringing together professionals and businesses from across the land-based and digital gaming sectors.
ICE Barcelona is expected to attract participants from sports betting, casino, lottery, esports, payments and related technology industries. The event is designed to provide a platform for companies to showcase products, explore new commercial opportunities and build relationships across the wider gaming ecosystem.
Technology Takes Centre Stage
A major feature of the 2027 edition will be Hall 7, which is being positioned as a dedicated environment for gaming technology, data and fintech communities.
Covering approximately 17,000 square metres, the hall will focus on areas including enterprise technology, artificial intelligence, payments, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, data and real-time customer engagement.
Rather than concentrating solely on product displays, the programme is expected to include live demonstrations, practical case studies, interactive sessions and discussions addressing how technology is being applied across the gaming industry.
The approach reflects the increasing connection between traditional gaming businesses and technology companies operating in areas such as financial services, cloud computing, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
“Welcome to the PlayVolution”
ICE Barcelona 2027 will also continue its “Welcome to the PlayVolution” campaign, which highlights the technological changes reshaping the gaming sector while incorporating themes around social responsibility.
The event organisers say the campaign reflects the continuing transformation of the industry and the growing importance of technology in how gaming products are developed, delivered and experienced.
WorldGaming Managing Director Stuart Hunter highlighted the event’s role as a meeting point for the wider gaming value chain. The event is expected to provide companies with opportunities to present new products, technologies and solutions while creating opportunities for commercial discussions and industry networking.
Strong International Participation
The scale of the previous World Gaming Week provides an indication of the international reach of the event.
In 2026, World Gaming Week recorded 62,988 industry professionals from 162 countries, representing a 5% increase from the 59,939 attendees recorded in 2025.
ICE itself attracted 51,996 visitors, an increase of 4%, while iGB Affiliate recorded 10,992 visitors, representing an 11% increase. Combined visitor days reached 120,439, up 9% year on year.
Spain accounted for the largest national representation with 10,209 visitors, followed by the United Kingdom with 5,999. Malta recorded 3,187 visitors, while Cyprus, Ukraine and Poland accounted for 2,628, 2,512 and 2,247 respectively.
The United States, Italy, Germany and Bulgaria also featured among the leading represented markets.
Preparing for 2027
With registration now open, ICE Barcelona 2027 is set to bring together operators, suppliers, technology providers, payment companies, regulators, affiliates and other industry stakeholders.
The event’s expanded technology focus is expected to place particular attention on the infrastructure supporting modern gaming businesses, including payments, data management, cybersecurity, compliance and artificial intelligence.
As the global gaming industry continues to evolve, ICE Barcelona 2027 will provide a forum for companies and professionals to examine new technologies, establish partnerships and discuss the commercial and operational developments shaping the sector.
