Guest donations, employee initiatives, and community events drive substantial fundraising impact as Holland Casino strengthens its commitment to cancer research and support projects.
Holland Casino has announced that several of its branches collectively raised an impressive €167,904 for the Fight Cancer Foundation over the past year. The fundraising effort, driven by both patrons and employees, underscores the operator’s ongoing commitment to supporting vital cancer research and community-based support initiatives.
Branches in Scheveningen, Breda, Nijmegen, Venlo, Valkenburg, and Eindhoven all contributed to the total. According to Holland Casino, the funds were collected through a variety of channels, including leftover tickets, cash, and chips deposited into specially designated donation boxes. Guests accounted for the majority of contributions, demonstrating strong public support for the cause.
Employees at the participating branches also played a significant role. Many took part in local editions of the “Swim to Fight Cancer” event, along with other charity-driven activities designed to raise awareness and generate additional funds. Their involvement helped amplify the campaign’s reach and reinforce the company’s sense of social responsibility.
All proceeds have been transferred to the Fight Cancer Foundation, a national organisation focused on advancing scientific cancer research and supporting projects that improve the quality of life for individuals living with or recovering from cancer. The foundation allocates donations toward innovative research trials, psychosocial care programmes, and local support initiatives aimed at helping patients and their families navigate the challenges associated with cancer treatment and survivorship.
Joost Reijns, Director of Fight Cancer, expressed deep gratitude for the contributions. “Thanks to the generous contributions of the guests and employees of Holland Casino, together we are increasing the impact on a fuller life for everyone affected by cancer,” he said. “Their donations not only provide the financial resources for scientific cancer research but also promote the quality of life by offering hope and future prospects to everyone affected by cancer.”
The fundraising efforts come amid other philanthropic and sports-related partnerships within the broader European gaming industry. Notably, Greek basketball club Peristeri BC has entered a two-year partnership with Betsson, adopting the new name Peristeri Betsson BC. The collaboration aims to strengthen community engagement and reinforce support for Greek sport.
With nearly €170,000 raised, Holland Casino’s charitable initiative demonstrates how industry operators can mobilise their networks and resources to create meaningful social impact, supporting cancer research efforts while fostering stronger community ties.
