AI-powered solution aims to reshape responsible gambling in Brazil’s regulated betting market
AI-Driven Solution Targets Safer Betting
Sportradar has introduced “Bettor Sense,” an artificial intelligence-powered responsible gambling tool designed to proactively identify risky betting behaviours. The tool uses a combination of behavioural science and machine learning algorithms to monitor player activity in real time. By detecting early warning signs, it enables operators to implement personalised interventions before gambling behaviour escalates into harm.
The first operator to adopt this technology is Betesporte, a Brazilian company actively positioning itself as a leader in responsible and ethical betting practices. This deployment comes at a crucial time, as Brazil’s newly regulated market emphasises consumer protection and operational transparency.
Brazil’s Regulatory Push for Player Protection
Brazil has been undergoing transformative regulatory changes in the sports betting sector, with authorities placing a strong emphasis on responsible gambling measures. Tools like Bettor Sense align with this direction, helping operators comply with evolving standards while fostering sustainable market growth.
The adoption of AI-based systems marks a shift from reactive to proactive gambling oversight. By flagging risky patterns early, operators can provide timely interventions, such as self-exclusion options, deposit limits, or direct support, thereby reducing the potential for gambling-related harm.
Enhancing Market Integrity Through Collaboration
Beyond adopting Bettor Sense, Betesporte has also joined the Sportradar Integrity Exchange, a global platform where operators can share data on suspicious betting activities. This integration strengthens efforts to combat match-fixing and other integrity threats in sports.
Tom Mace, SVP of Integrity & Regulatory Services at Sportradar, praised the partnership, stating that it reflects the industry’s shift toward data-driven compliance and user safety. Similarly, Betesporte CEO Marcos Pereira highlighted that protecting both users and the integrity of sports remains central to the operator’s strategy.
Looking Ahead: A Model for the Industry
The collaboration between Sportradar and Betesporte sets a new benchmark for how technology can shape safer, more transparent betting environments. As Brazil’s market continues to expand, the integration of tools like Bettor Sense may become essential for operators seeking to stay ahead of regulatory demands while maintaining customer trust.
With growing adoption expected, this initiative could pave the way for broader industry-wide adoption of AI-based responsible gambling solutions, reinforcing both player protection and market integrity across emerging jurisdictions.
