New long-term agreement leverages IWG’s expertise in transforming retail scratch mechanics into engaging digital-first formats for Kansas players
The Kansas Lottery has entered a long-term partnership with Instant Win Gaming (IWG) to provide a comprehensive portfolio of eInstant games, marking a significant expansion of IWG’s presence in the North American lottery market. Under the agreement, Kansas becomes the 33rd NASPL- and WLA-member lottery to collaborate with IWG and the ninth U.S. lottery to deploy the supplier’s digital content.
Through the deal, IWG will supply a continuous stream of eInstant games via its InstantRGS remote game server, ensuring that Kansas players have access to fresh and engaging digital content throughout the year. A key component of the partnership focuses on adapting traditional retail scratch ticket mechanics into digital-first formats. This approach is designed to preserve the familiarity that retail players enjoy while fostering increased engagement in the lottery’s digital channel.
Jason Lisiecki, Executive Vice President of IWG, commented on the agreement, saying, “This is another important milestone for IWG as we continue to support the growth of iLottery programs across North America. Kansas Lottery’s strategic focus on bringing proven scratch mechanics into the digital channel aligns perfectly with our leadership in this space. We look forward to delivering a steady stream of compelling eInstants tailored to Kansas players and helping the Lottery scale engagement in the months ahead.”
Stephen Durrell, Executive Director of the Kansas Lottery, emphasized the importance of IWG’s experience, stating, “As we evaluated partners for our long-term eInstant strategy, IWG stood out for their willingness to embrace our specific game requirements and their ability to consistently deliver highly engaging content within the boundaries we set. Their expertise in transforming retail scratch styles into successful digital formats made this partnership an easy decision. We’re excited for Kansas players to experience the depth and quality of IWG’s portfolio.”
The agreement highlights a broader trend in the lottery sector, where operators are increasingly investing in digital-first games to attract new audiences and complement traditional retail offerings. In parallel, Brightstar recently extended its California Lottery instant ticket contract by six years, while Brazil’s Mega da Virada New Year lottery set a record with BR3.05bn ($186m) in ticket sales, underscoring the growing role of digital and large-scale lottery operations globally.
This partnership positions the Kansas Lottery to expand its digital reach, enhance player engagement, and continue to modernize its offerings in line with evolving market trends.
