Casino game studio takes first step toward wider regulated market expansion
Swedish-based game studio Solidicon has received a B2B supplier licence from the Swedish Gambling Authority (Spelinspektionen), marking a significant milestone in its ambition to expand across regulated iGaming markets. The licence permits Solidicon to offer its catalogue of online casino games—such as Navigator and Swiminator—to operators licensed in Sweden.
The move comes with key regulatory support from BetComply, a compliance consultancy firm aiding suppliers in navigating evolving European gambling frameworks.
Aligning with Sweden’s Modern Regulatory Framework
Sweden introduced mandatory B2B supplier licensing in July 2023 to reinforce accountability among content providers and strengthen consumer protection. Solidicon’s approval now places it among a growing cohort of compliant developers authorised to operate under this stricter framework.
Headquartered in Gothenburg, Solidicon has long been a niche creator in the digital gaming space. With this licence, it gains official access to the domestic regulated market, enabling direct collaboration with Sweden’s licensed B2C operators.
BetComply’s Role in Streamlining the Licensing Journey
Solidicon COO Richard Rydell credited BetComply for their instrumental role:
“Gaining a Swedish B2B licence is an important step as we look to expand our footprint in regulated markets. BetComply’s support and hands-on expertise made the process far smoother than we expected.”
BetComply, which specialises in multi-jurisdictional licensing, played a key role in application preparation, documentation, and compliance alignment.
CCO Mike de Graaff added context:
“We’ve seen a growing number of regulators introduce supplier licences over the last few years. The trend is only going to continue.”
Regulated Expansion Plans on the Horizon
While Solidicon has yet to reveal which markets it will pursue next, industry expectations point to potential applications in Malta, UK, or Ontario, all of which have active frameworks for B2B supplier licensing. The continued involvement of BetComply suggests that these plans are already in motion.
The timing also follows BetComply’s May 2025 partnership with Mindway AI, aimed at enhancing responsible gambling safeguards across iGaming platforms. That collaboration, particularly around behavioural monitoring tools like GameScanner, signals that BetComply is committed to supporting ethical game development at every stage.
Strategic Positioning for Growth
As regulatory frameworks tighten globally, Solidicon’s licence approval and BetComply’s involvement set the tone for a compliance-led growth strategy. With a solid foundation in its home market, Solidicon is now positioned to pursue international licensing, forge new B2B operator deals, and align its content offering with global standards for safety, transparency, and fairness.
Stay tuned as this partnership charts a course through the evolving landscape of global iGaming regulation.
