A Strategic Sports Partnership with National Impact
Newly launched betting platform Dbet has inked a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the Swedish Basketball Association (SBBF). The partnership will see Dbet become the official sponsor of both the men’s and women’s senior national teams, as well as top-tier league clubs in SBL Dam and SBL Herr, marking a significant milestone for both Swedish basketball and the emerging sportsbook brand.
This collaboration will extend through the Women’s European Championship in 2025 and run until the Men’s World Championship in 2027, ensuring long-term visibility and engagement across Sweden’s basketball ecosystem. The timing aligns with a period of rising interest in basketball across Sweden, especially as national teams gear up for international competition.
Elevating Swedish Basketball on and off the Court
SBBF Chairwoman Susanne Jidesten highlighted the potential of the deal, stating:
“Partnering with Dbet, a dynamic and innovative player in the betting market, is an exciting opportunity for Swedish basketball. Together, we can broaden the reach of Swedish basketball and create new engagement opportunities for both fans and players.”
For the SBBF, the sponsorship is not just financial support—it’s a strategy to increase media exposure, fan engagement, and commercial development in a sport that has seen notable growth in youth participation and televised viewership in recent years.
Dbet’s Rapid Ascent in the Swedish Market
Launched in 2024, Dbet is owned by Immense Group, the iGaming company behind prominent casino brands like Videoslots, Mr Vegas, and Mega Riches. The deal with SBBF represents Dbet’s second major sports sponsorship in Sweden, following an earlier partnership with Swedish football legend Anders Svensson and collaboration with the Swedish Bandy Association.
Jesper Kärrbrink, CEO of Immense Group, expressed confidence in the strategic importance of this deal:
“We are excited to partner with Swedish basketball, a sport that is rapidly gaining popularity in Sweden. This partnership will help us engage with Swedish sports fans and strengthen Dbet’s position in Sweden’s sports betting market.”
Kärrbrink has previously spoken about the challenges of navigating regulation and differentiation in Sweden’s competitive gambling landscape. With Dbet’s sponsorship of the national basketball scene, the company signals a bold move toward becoming a household name in sports betting.
Looking Ahead: Betting Meets Grassroots Development
This partnership also hints at a broader trend in the Scandinavian betting market—a growing alignment between sportsbooks and grassroots sports development. With increased scrutiny on gambling advertising and sponsorship, operators are investing in partnerships that offer long-term community value and promote responsible gambling standards.
The Dbet-SBBF collaboration serves as a blueprint for how emerging betting brands can support national sports development while gaining legitimacy and visibility in a tightly regulated market.
As Sweden prepares for the Women’s EuroBasket and other international tournaments, Dbet’s presence across jerseys, arenas, and digital content is set to grow—marking a pivotal chapter in both the platform’s expansion and the evolution of Swedish basketball.
